Crickets

I guess it’s time to start blogging.

It’s 2013, and I’ve been working in the software industry for more than a decade–you’d think I would have my own site by now.  But every time I started to work up the motivation to actually do it, I remembered that the domain I wanted, ericzbeard.com, was taken.  Until now!  I just happened to check the domain today, and apparently whoever owned it before let the domain expire, so now it’s mine!

Why is that particular name so important?  I don’t know.  I just like having the ‘Z’ in there.  It’s how I sign my name.  It’s what I put in the signature line of my emails.  And it’s fairly unique – there aren’t too many ericzbeards out there (except that guy who sat on the domain name for all those years…).  I’m ‘ericzbeard’ at Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, Facebook, and many other places online.

So, here I am.  Eric Z. Beard.  A public web presence.  Hooray for me.

I can hear the crickets chirping already.
